Anything else editors should know about you: American-born and bred, I moved to Jerusalem 10 days after I graduated from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, and have lived in Israel ever since. After stints as a general assignment reporter for Jerusalem Post, Jerusalem Report and Associated Press, I wrote articles on science and technology. For more than 20 years, I have also freelanced, drawing on my bilingual and bicultural skills to translate stories in Israel into comprehensible and engaging pieces for American readers. In 1995, I wrote a children's book titled "All of this Country is called Jerusalem": A Curricular Guide about the Contemporary Rescue Operations of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. I am currently working on a memoir, "How to Laugh (and Cry) Through Breast Cancer." In 2004 I won the AJPA's first prize for excellence in personality profiles for a cover story I wrote for B'nai B'rith Magazine on Justice Aharon Barak, president of the Israeli Supreme Court. In 2013, I won an AJPA award for a piece I wrote for Tablet on my Israeli-Palestinian breast cancer support group.
