I was a on-staff feature writer for BACKSTAGE for 15 years ('97-2012) writing profiles, covering trends and news events. Prior to my tenure at BACKSTAGE I was a feature writer at the now defunct THEATRE WEEK. I've been published in THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE WASHINGTON POST, FILM JOURNAL INTERNATIONAL, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER and AMERICAN THEATRE, among others.
Since my tenure at BACKSTAGE ended I've been covering the cultural scene--writing film reviews, covering trends and writing features--for the FORWARD, FILM JOURNAL INTERNATIONAL, AMERICAN THEATRE, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, CRAIN'S NEW YORK BUSINESS,JEWISH JOURNAL and MOMENT. among others.
I've won 30-plus awards and honors,including, most recently, a first place LA Press Club award in the category of "Reviews--TV/Film All Platforms" at the 2019 Southern California Journalism Awards and a first place 2019 Simon Rockower Award in the category of "The David Frank Award for Excellence in Personality Profiles."
My book, "JEWISH ART TODAY, News, Views, and Cultural Trends," a compilation of my stories first printed in the FORWARD, was published by Hadassa Word Press
